It sounds to me like you are not done. The bump in language during rounds, the periodic yeast, and the remaining problems could still indicate metals issues. Of course, at some point you can see what happens when you stop for 2-3 months and then start up again. --

Guest guest
, Much appreciation for your comments, looking for direction here. Yes, adding the K was very beneficial, seemed to physically perk her up a bit and add some energy, evened out her mood and appeared to help her digestion. Also, reduced her previously high hemocrit/hemoglobulin on her CBC and made her calcium go into the ref range for the first time. To make matters worse, she is tall, very tall, but slightly built and the lack of adequate calcium due to her low K has precipitated the beginning of scoliosis. The copper started out on the first hair test (prechelation) at 9.9, ref range 10-22, rose to 24, then 13 and now at 16, so she didn't appear to have a copper/zinc imbalance that these kids are famous for. She gets a little copper in her multi and also eats natural, organic peanut butter, so some copper in her diet and it does not appear to be a problem. I agree her adrenals are still struggling, lots of pantothenic acid and C and 3 adrenal cortex per day don't seem to be able to keep up with it. Lots of additional stress in her life, school and she is moving into a new house, so could be why. Neutrophils are fine, per last blood test two weeks ago. As to Ala alone, we did use it alone once, at about round 30 and it caused some pretty spacey behavior. Tried again at round 60, for 10 rounds and got nothing, I mean nothing, nothing good, nothing bad, just nothing. We got the ped to rx some oral dmps, had it filled at Falls and thought maybe we might try it with the Ala to see if that wouldn't work better as far as her immunity? We then added dmsa back and got the bump in the language we spoke of, so not sure what to make of that, except if the dmsa is adding some property she needs, as the effect of the dmsa was instantaneous. Again, much thanks for your comments. Guest guest
We did try EpiCor, didn't see anything and I could almost swear it made the yeast worse, so don't know what to make of that. Transfer Factor, otoh, was a big hit, controls the yeast and appears to offer something in the way of immunity. Others have seen great improvement with EpiCor. Thanks for your attention and comment. Guest guest
Hi , I just got a chance to look at the little dear one's hair test today. Thank you for posting it! I have been learning so much from your experiences. I'd be interested to hear from Andy on 'when to stop chelation'. What doses are you using now for chelation (and how many mg/lb does that work out to)? What dose of vitamin k have you been using, and do you expect to supplement that in the long term? Have you ever done any allergy food panels, like these from US Biotek http://www.usbiotek.com/Services-Antibody.htm We did one for my daughter and the results matched my observations. I am thinking about the problems with immune dysfunction. For fine motor delay I would keep chelating and introduce fine motor play that she likes. Guest guest
Thanks, Andy has pretty much said what TK did, 2-3 months of no change on the chelators, able to eat anything and no vitamins needed, except " on " rounds. We have the last two, need the first. We have been doing 12.5 mgs of Ala and Dmsa. The dosing of the Vitamin K is 5 mgs, k1 and 1 mg k2. Sounds like a lot, but I researched it and supposedly you cannot overdose on K, what you don't need is excreted. As to when to discontinue, I don't know, is always an issue, I would like to stop the high dose and just switch to what is in her multivitamin, but when is always the question. No, never did an allergy food panel, thanks for the link, might just be what she needs. She eats everything and doesn't appear to react to anything, although I do understand the reactions can be hidden, so might be informative. She has good color, eyes are not dark, but does seem to catch things easily, but then, so do I, might be inherited bad immunity. Thanks for the advise, we will keep chelating, fine motor delay is improving and she is doing well with her handwriting in school, but she doesn't like to do it. I have seen some improvements in the last couple of weeks, i.e. learning to tie her shoes, etc. so I have hope she will catch up there. For my daughter the foods that she hated (peanut and some other legumes) showed up as positive IgE when she was very young. She grew out of those allergies with strict avoidance. I have heard that DMPS helps immunity. If that is the case I'm not there yet.
