Guest guest
Did you know that if you take an extra long piece of tinfoil--enough so that then you fold it in half you can then wrap your food-- and wet a few sheets of newspaper or thick layers of wet paper towels, lay the newspaper on half of the tinfoil and then fold the tinfoil up to cover the wet paper, and then wrap your food tightly it will keep the food from burning? My neighbor taught me that little trick a couple years ago. The wet paper slows down the cooking process so you have to start it a while before you start your meat but you never have to worry about it. You would have to play around with this to figure out the cooking times for yourself. She also cooks roasts outside in the summer time. She builds her fire in the pit, does her main cooking for the evening and then after her meal is finished and the fire dies down, she scrapes away the ashes or coals, has her roast wrapped in tinfoil same as above, and buries it under the coals. Then she builds up the fire again for her evening marshmallow roast and plays around with making her willow furniture to keep an eye on the fire. At bedtime, she covers the firepit with a metal screen and leaves the roast cooking all night. It is so yummy. Weezie Re: What is on the menu Monday? > Good Luck at weigh in Zephyr! Kind of very nervous to leave Skyler with a babysitter but our neighbors gave us movie tickets and a gift certificate to our favorite restaraunt and their daughter will babysit because we watched thier dog and garden for 3 weeks while they were away traveling. Soooo we are going to see a movie and then we will do take out from the restaraunt because neither one of us is comfortable having someone else put him to bed so we will enjoy our take out at home.We usually order tow vegetable dishes and then split a shrimp entree and we always lose wight this way, it is very different from the way we used to order their but we enjoy it very much the same. Guest guest
Have a great time! You both deserve a break. Just so you know I had someone come in daily to take care of sonny (my dog), then I had three other people come in daily to just play with him and spend time with him. Think he is spoiled!
