Vitamin D (my experience)

My vitamin D level a year and a half ago was LESS THAN SIX (>6)!!!!!!!!!!!! Crazy, eh? I was treated with 50,000 IU (yes, fifty thousand) once a week for 8 weeks. The difference it made in me was astounding. I'd been having constant chronic unending pain for 6 years in my muscles and joints. My pain is not entirely gone (fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis), but it's SO improved. You don't really think about how important some of these things are until you see what happens without them. I hadn't played outside with my kids in years (literally) because I was in too much pain, and had many days where I couldn't get out of bed. Within a couple weeks I was running across the yard with them and NOT wanting to die from it. Best thing (physically) that's ever happened to me! (I realize this isn't necessarily pertinent, as I don't have liver disease, also, but just wanted to share my almost no

vit D experience.) Ami wrote: Good point since Noah already has osteopenia. A multi vitamen may not give enough vit DThe recommended daily

amount is wrong. I think that they reccommend400 iu/day. Older folks need 800/day. With bile impairment if maytake 20-50K/day to get the right absorbtion. If she had her levelmeasured and is below 30 she needs more. It is better to avoid Ddefiency than to treat osteoporosis.I know that this doesn't address the weight loss issue but it isimportant.
