Guest guest
Dear Friends, One of the very frustrating things about having thyroid cancer is that there is no *one* " correct " way to treat it. Even among specialists, the opinions vary. Here on this listserv, with 750+ members, you hear about different doctors recommending different things. What's a patient to do??? Well, good news! There is something we *can* do to help figure out the best way to treat this disease! ThyCa (the Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc.) started an endowment fund last year with the goal of raising enough money to help fund thyroid cancer research. On Friday, October 11th at the ThyCa Conference in Los Angeles, we will be hosting a gala Dinner/Grand Auction, and all net proceeds will go directly to that research fund. Whether or not you attend this event, you can help support this fundraiser from wherever you are: you can help us with a donation, you can arrange a sponsorship from a business, friend, or family member (and you will get credit toward your dinner ticket!), or you can come bid on something and take it home! We have already received many wonderful donations for the auction. (See the 6-page list on ThyCa's web site at http://www.thyca.org!) Tickets for the dinner are $60 per person. They call this the " easy cancer " but it still claims lives and impacts countless others. Please consider helping with this important fundraiser. You will know EXACTLY where your support dollars are going - to thyroid cancer research. I hope to see many of you in Los Angeles in October. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact the conference team at mailto:conference@....
