Guest guest
Hello all- Looking for advice/info from all you UC veterans. Husband Fred, aka F-Dog (gang name), Sigmund Fred (screen name for psychological forums he's involved in) and most recently SigMOID Fred, is having a sigmoidoscopy this Thursday due to a UC flareup that's lasted for 6 weeks. Had a bout with diahrrea from Nov. 05-March 06 that was complicated by a parasite, aka BUBBA (Bug Up Butt). Fred, thankfully, has killed off BUBBA, but the colitis is rearing its ugly head. Doc will do sigmoidoscopy in hospital, as she wants to take biopsies. Fortunately, the prep isn't as bad as for a colonoscopy, which he had end of March. Just two Fleet Enemas and he's good to go, and I'm sure he will. Doc has said he may need steroids. Are there other meds any of you took when diahrrea was uncontrollable? He's already changed his diet - no matter what he does, nothing makes a difference. Still takes Activia yogurt, although went off that for awhile to see if going off dairy would make a difference. (It didn't.) Thanks guys - and a major "Hey and Howdy do" to Maureen, , and . You M and Ms are da bom! Praying for y'all's various concerns and praising Jay-sus! for Maureen's good news about Jim. And another shout out to Deb (), Dave, Ricky, and Lee. You are the coolest peeps. Warmly, (actualy "Hot-ly" here in Atlanta, where Fred sees Dr. Norman Gitlin at Crawford Long Hospital, for anyone in GA who was asking about good GIs, hepatologists). Wife of Sigmoid Fred, PSC 03/04, UC, 03/06. R.I.P. - BUBBA, 11/05-07/06.

(It didn't.) > , Sounds like Fred is having a major flare...I was on Prednisone for a year to bring my worst Crohns flare under control..NOTHING else worked... These foods were off limits.. Milk Products (other than cheese)- which actually helped control my flare somewhat) Any canned fruit (deadly) Coffee Fast food (certain chicken sandwiches) Mc s Burger King etc.. Jams or Jellies Fruit juices (apple and grape are the worst) Canned vegetables Soy (disasterous) Everything is under control now...but I really have to watch what I eat...
