We were told that a hearing problem should be diagnosed by then to keep the speech delays from happening, but got a run around from EI, so we went and found an ENT on our own. You can have them tested younger than 6 months, it usually requires a BEAR or BAER test(brain evoked)the one where they put them to sleep and then hook up electrodes, doesn't hurt at all.
