Hi ,

You have already gotten some great advise from Amy, Cy and Pierre. I hope I

didn't miss anybody that responded. There is not much I can add, except to

say that if her serum (blood) creatinine is 0.6, that actually is very good,

excellent in fact. That is a normal creatinine level for a teenager or even for

a small adult. You want that level to be low. Higher is bad with serum

creatinine. I am not sure what you are referring to in the normal range you

quote

of 7.8-21.4, but if she was in those levels, she would be on dialysis already.

Those may be acceptable dialysis levels, but not at all normal values for a

pre-dialysis patient. A normal creatinine depends on if you are male or

female, but I will put a link in here for you that may help you with your

daughter's results. The standard is that creatinine should be less that 1.5.

Anything below that is a normal range in blood.

I am a mother of two daughters myself, so I completely understand your

Mother's heart being so concerned, but I just really want you to know that the

only

way to confirm a diagnosis of IgAN is with a biopsy.

I just want you to know that regardless of what subsequent testing finds with

your daughter, you have full support here from people that really do

understand.

I think what is refering to is the BUN/Creatinine Ratio. Not the

creatinine itself. THE BUN/Creatinine Ratio is considered normal

between 8 and 27.

I knew keeping all my labs would accout for something one day. I

stored the acceptable levels for all the blood work specs in Excel

and found the range that was closest to s calculation. Even up

until 2 months before my surgery my BUN/Cratinine Ratio remained

normal averaging around 10.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for clarifying that was referring to BUN. That didn't cross my

mind. Now it makes more sense.

Sorry .
