Guest guest
Hi , Who have you talked to at your insurance company? Where is your insruance through - your company, your husbands?? Ok if therough one of the companies you work with get a hold of the benefits coordinator. Explain all of this to them. Stress the timing improtance, the less evasive, faster recovery, less $$, etc. Most likely they can use their pull with insurance to either get you approved for another dr or get it ok'd for out of network dr to be paid in network. The rational behind that would be no in network dr can perform the orthroscopic procedure so you " had " to go out but you should not be penalized. I know my insurance will pay in network this way. Get copies of the CT scan and send them to whomever wants to see them. Not sure how much it costs. Ask insurance if they cover this too. Considering it saves them the 200-600 " CT scan reading " fee they should oblige. What does your pediatrician say? Have they had another child go through this? Are they familiar with both surgeries? Do you know if the neuro you are going to see does both? You could probably call his office and aask or have your ped call his office. If possible call all players (ped, neuro, insurance) involved once a day. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. I hate to say this but no one is going to move faster unless you pressure them to (in as nice a fashion as possible). I've found that the worried mom approach is best. Also, the " too knowledgeable " mom is best too. Get all the info you can on both procedures - you'd be suprised what you can find with a google search. Then start asking questions about clarification, etc. It may get things moving faster. Good Luck. na, 2 1/2 yrs, DOC Grad, Tort Resolved Kiersten, 8 months, DOC 1/10/06, Tort www.thefilyaws.com PS I've seen some pics of the major surgery. I know how easy wearing a doc band is. I would do everything possible to determine if my child were a candidate for the easy surgery and go for that. Blood transfusions, big scars, and lots of anesthesia if they can be prevented should be IMO. > > > > > > > > I just wanted to let you all know that 's CT scan results > came > > > back positive for craniosynostosis.
