Let me look it up and see what I think. I hate the fact that there is no decent psychiatrist and I am trying to figure out Enrique meds with a pediatrician and Putter's psychologist (not even Enrique's!), and the internet. Guest guest
Sissi, if you would just > medicate Boone then you would have no more problems. Actually Boone is on Clonidine for anxiety, stress and sleep problems. I resisted as long as possible but I finally had to something. He was miserable and so was everybody else. We still have problems. But at least he's not a total wreck. Sissi

You should make sure that whoever is working with Enrique understands that there are PHYSICAL reasons for his behavior. Can he learn to control his behavior? Absolutely. But Enrique does NOT need to hear that it's all in his head. It isn't, and he does not need to be made to feel that he is just not trying hard enough or whatever. That will only cause MORE anxiety when he cannot control his physical symptoms through " positive thinking. " Thought control, relaxation techniques, etc have their place & can be most helpful, but it must be understood by all parties that there is more to it than that. Perhaps someone who knows about panic disorders would be more suited to working with him just now? Possibly a psychiatrist, who could combine therapy and medication? Guest guest
Ok I'm totally out of my depths here, but I think is on the right track. Dr. Kaye may have been a good fit in the past, but situations change .... Perhaps a fresh perspective and a clean slate would be better for Enrique. I would also think about re-evaluating the med situation. I once had a friend (a wonderful well-adjusted person) who told me about his struggles with overwhelming anxieties and phobias. And I asked, " how did you over come it? " And he looked at me and said " with Prozac, how else! " : ) I don't know what meds are appropriate here, but some thought patterns cannot be changed with talk-therapy alone. my uninformed 2 cents, Re: Thoughts and concerns on Enrique: PLEASE READ! > I think that perhaps Enrique would benefit from a different > therapist.
