That's okay, Kris, we already know that you aren't that way. You're allowed

to learn a few things.

i just asked her why she has taken so many showers today...

her- " because it's silly "

me- " what? why's it silly? "

her- " 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 showers "

me- " yeah, but why's that silly? "

her- " cause it hypnotizes me "

umm, ok...

Is she getting enough deep pressure? like brushing or jumping on

trampoline or other sensory activities? does she go to OT?

I'm not an occupational therapist either, but after working with many

sensory impaired kids, and taking my own child to therapy I've picked

up some things............OMG that just sounded so pompus! I totally

didn't mean to sound that way, Anyways, went thru a shower

phase, and our therapist said it was a sensory thing seeking deep

pressure. or the pressure of the water hitting the skin. When we

started the Willbarger's Deep Pressure Protocol, 's whole life

changed. He's now able to come " tell us " when he's needing

pressure. One of the things he does now is come to the couch,

bringing me the container of lotion. He says " open it " and puts his

feet in my lap. I know he is " out of sorts " and I rub lotion on his

feet. He's got the softest feet in Sullivan County! Hope this

helps! Kris

> i'm not an expert but i would guess it is more light pressure she

is seeking.

> No, I get that completely. Heat, like a cocoon, and white noise all around.

VERY soothing and hypnotizing.

that is so great that david is able to identify and request the sensory stuff he

needs. rowan did the willbargers protocol back about 3 or 4 years ago. we had

to discontinue it because it sent him loopy - rolling around on the floor

laughing till he couldn't breath. maybe we should give it another shot.
