Thank GOD! I know how you've been waiting to finally be considered negative.

I hope everything starts falling into place with your tests and you are able

to get back in the TTC saddle! I'm really happy for you!

Finally! The long saga of your ep is over. Congratulations! I know

there are still things you worry about, like the mass in the tube, but

finally you are in position to take charge of your body again, rather

than be at its mercy. Also, I seem to remember that there was a

correlation between mass and HCG levels. If HCG is zero, does it mean

the mass is gone? Something to hope for.

I still have not heard the results. Maybe I will call the lab directly

if I don't hear soon. This is more difficult than I imagined.

a,

I had also thought there was a correlation between mass and HCG

levels. But it hasn't proven to be the case with me. When my HCG

was 20,000 my mass was quite small, which is why they gave me metho.

But then the mass got larger as my HCG got lower. It's weird.

My last U/S, which was a month ago when my HCG was 7.5, showed the

mass to be 1 1/2 inches. Then when I went to the gyne (the cute one--

sigh ...) a couple weeks ago, he said he could feel it. So, my

wishful thinking is that it ends up being a clot and not a real

mass. I'm hoping the HSG can help identify what it is.

I'm going crazy to hear your results. My fingers are remaining

crossed until I hear the good news. I can just imagine how you must

feel right now.

HCG Results

Hi,

I got the call with my HCG results and they are down a bit. They

went from 7.5 to 4.5 in exactly one month. While I would have been

happier with a big fat zero, 4.5 is enough to be considered

negative. Finally!

So, I start taking the pill on Sunday and I'm " tentatively " scheduled

to have the HSG on March 12. I hope this all works out.

a--will you get your results today, or do you have to wait

until Monday?

YES!!! Finally its negative! Are you going to go out and celebrate

this weekend or what? I know I would...but I guess it is kind of a

bittersweet celebration. BUT, now you can get that HSG and get back

on the road to ttc.

Thanks AmyR--

I'm definitely relieved that they're now considering me negative, but

I'm so worried about what they'll find with the HSG. You're right--

it's truly bittersweet after nearly a 6-month wait.

No major celebration planned for the weekend. When I get to the

point where a is, then I'll be celebrating beyond belief!

I used to celebrate a lot more when I was a Wisconsinite--flatlanders

can be boring!

You should definitely celebrate. I think any excuse to reward yourself

is good, and this is a major one. Getting here after six long months

is quite an achievement, and a lesson in patience as well. I think

there is another thing you can take consolation in. When I was

complaining about my long wait to my SIL, she said I have very strong

hormones. Well, yours are alot more tenacious than even mine. So, when

you do get pg,I am convinced your beta will fly skywards.

BTW, why does your dr want to do a Clomid dry run and not just try to

get pg and go on progesterone support? Were you on progesterone with

your m/cs?

YEA!!!! I am so happy for you!! FINALLY!!!!

When my hcg came back neg. I asked what the number was and the dr

said the lab doesn't report anything under 5, they just say neg., so

don't worry that's it's 4.5 lots of us could have had a similar

number and just not known it! I'm so happy that you finally had a

neg. test - are you going out to celebrate!?!

Hi a,

Yes, I was on prometrium pills with my mcs, after they found that my

progesterone was low with each one. It's very controversial whether

progesterone supplementation really works. A lot of doctors feel that

an initial reading of low progesterone is a signal that the pg is

already failing, and in my cases it was true all 4 times. Sometimes

progesterone supplementation postpones the inevitable, if you know

what I mean. For example, I was on crinone suppostitories with the

ep, and I do believe that is why the pg lasted so long--which

actually made things worse. Maybe my ep would have resolved itself

had I not been on progesterone.

My RE believes it's better to confront the hormone problem on the

front end, rather than the back end (i.e., clomid will help produce a

better quality/bigger egg, which will give off higher progesterone

versus having a lower quality/smaller egg and supplementing it with

progesterone).

I'm fairly confident that my progesterone will be fine with clomid--

but he doesn't want me to lose another one. As you know, he errors

on the cautious side, which is fine because I don't want to go

through another mc. I guess at this point, I'm just hoping my tubes

still work.

I hope you are enjoying the weekend. I'd be so incredibly excited if

I were you. Your experience truly is an inspiration to me because I

just know it is in the right spot.
