Hi Lori

It is quite common to have babies go for an adjustment in the first

week, I can understand that you must feel frustrated though, as you

just want to get on with it now. It won't affect the outcome,

though, at 5 months you have loads of time- my daughter was out of

her band for three weeks out of four months due to heat rashes and a

series of fevers and she still saw complete correction (and we

started at 6 1/2) months.

However, I agree with you that the orthotist should not encourage

you to keep putting a band back on that is causing a deep red spot

that lasts two hours (when the band has only been on for three).

It's really important not to just ignore a really red spot but to

get an adjustment done, especially if you feel it is pressing there

as well. So you have done the right thing in holding off I think-

plus you can't check it every two hours at night anyway.

Hope it has got sorted today, let us know how you got on.
