Guest guest
Hi April: I don't know anything about that group but have added it to subject line so hopefully it will catch someone's eye. As for facial asymmetry, try looking at your daughter in the mirror. The asymmetry is easier to see that way. Also check out the photos section of the website for different ways/positions to photograph her ... you can see it better in pictures sometimes too. Most likey they will take measurements, using different points of reference to determinte the severity. The numbers tell part of the story but the other part is also told my how the head actually looks. CranialTech has a severity assessment on their web site (www.cranialtech.com) based on appearance. I am not sure how you measured the ears but 7 mm is quite a bit of asymettry for ears. A better way to look at the ears is by standing above her and looking down at the top of her head. Also try to get a picture from that angle as well. As far as the tort, did you talk to her doctor about it? Plagio won't get better with repositioning if she has tort. I would make another appointment with her doctor to talk about that as well as get a referral to a pediatric physical therapist to get assessed for tort as well. Tort can also cause some of the facial asymmetry. --- aprilskolo <aprilskolo@...> wrote: > Hi, my name is April and recently at my daughter's 6 > month checkup the > doctor mentioned that her head was not completely > symmetrical and that > he wanted to refer me to see a specialist. Guest guest
Thanks for the info . When I meet with the doctor re: the plagio, they are supposed to check her for the tort as well. But, I am pretty convinced that she has tort, so i am calling back my ped tomorrow to see about getting into physical therapy for her right away. I don't want to waste the month while I wait to get into Yale...thanks!!pennylac <pennylac@...> wrote: Hi April:I don't know anything about that group but have addedit to subject line so hopefully it will catchsomeone's eye.As for facial asymmetry, try looking at your daughterin the mirror.
