Guest guest
Hi, Thank you. I'm sorry I can't help you w/measurments, my dd wasn't ever measured. CT usually only does measurments if it's required my insurance. My insurance wouldn't pay for my dd's DOCbands b/c they were out of network and they did have a provider who was in network. No, I don't think we got good correction in the beginning. She was out of her band more than she was in it due to skin issues. Her second and third band are what did the trick. CT will not keep a baby in a band past 4.5 months as the band loses it's effectiveness, the holding points are gone at that point. Yes, your son's adjusted age will be taken into consideration. It's really important that you trust the ortho that is treating your baby. Since you've lost faith in your current ortho I think you should go to the CT in Arizona. That way if you have any concerns corporate isn't too far way, you know? I'm sure Angel Flights would be ok w/taking you to AZ instead of CA. You should call CT in AZ and make a casting appointment and have your son's follow up treatment done there too. Is that an option for you? Keep us posted. > > Hi > Hoping is still on, any input appreciated. > > I saw DD's photos, she looks so cute looking up at the ceiling getting her photo taken. So adorable. So you got complete correction it sounds like. No 2mm normal off????. My son started 1st Doc band at 12.5 months, one month later, I always left helmet on!!!! More than was recommended (only of 2-3times a week for 1/2 hour for cleaning and bath to 1 hour) Did you not get good correction at 1st? Did you go to a different CT Branch to get a better fit??? Was the 3rd band the time you got more correction. Or was the growth of dd's head at that time. My son had great growth the 1st three months, but not much captured.????? The CT in San Diego will not cast past 18 months, will not let a helmet stay on past 4months, even thou I spoke to a mom leaving the office 5 months ago who had her son in a helmet going on 24 months(last month). I'm not sure what PT to see that casts Doc bands, that has alot of experience with older children, On 10/21 My Son will be 20 months actual age, only 18.75 Adjusted(I'm not sure if it matter at this age about prematurity-hope it still gains me a month) I think I kinda lost faith in my PT(Or it's just my anxiousness and it being a weekend- But then again, I will not be talked out of anything, which has been happening each time I have a concern,or question anything?????? NOt feeling all so comfy and cozy. I'm flying from WA State, I have trouble getting to San diego, but hopefully the Angel flight program will still work getting thru the moutains in the bad weather. They have been great. I thinking of flying to AZ -HQ. Any ideas if that would be a great place to get a good fitting Doc band, since it's the last chance. He could then wear it from the 19th month on till he out grows it. Maybe God is still watching out for my son. Did your sons band sit on his head crooked( higher on the side with the bump) It seems like the band had to much room, so his head was able to make the band fit on his head the way his head wanted it to instead of the band controlling his head. What were DD's measurements, could you give me some measurements and overall growth numbers, maybe this will give me hope.(The P.T. I used only had 2 years experience with Doc bands-) > > P.S. Any new mom, Just a reminder, I still think Doc band was the way to go. Maybe I should of been more concerned about the experience of the Pt with older children. > Thanks again > Jantjie >

Guest guest
I wasn't all that concerned w/her flat spot what bothered me was her facial asymmetry and how misaligned her ears were. That is what I wanted corrected and it was, thankfully! :-) I'm sure they won't have a problem casting him in AZ, they really do aim to please. I wouldn't worry too much if you're pissing your ortho off, this is your son we're talking about here. We all get passionate when we're talking about our children. Don't give up on this! Guest guest
Thanks , Yeah passionate, Thanks for making me feel better, and your right. Phoenix can cast, when I find out which PT to have it done, and San Diego can do the adjustments ( I trust her to shave it, just think casting has been a problem) Whether they like it or not. It still needs to me done, and I'll just have to deal with feeling uncomfortable if she reads these messages. But again I don't hate her I did like her, It's just paranoia. Another funny thing and this actually works pretty good. Since I have such a long flight, the last leg pilot which lives in Bakersfield CA, has been having us stay at his house, and then the day of the actually appointment he flies me the last leg and waits for us and takes me back. Then a few days later we fly home(I had to spread out the flight days because of my health). He actually just had his son go to college in tempe AZ. And has been talking about frequent visits he will be making there.Hopefully it will work out that he will always be able to cover that leg. Boy these Angel Flight pilots are so great. It is a wonderful program, and great hearts in great people. Guest guest
You're very welcome Jantjie. I'm so happy to hear you feel better. :-) You shouldn't feel uncomfortable you're only voicing your concerns. You're not saying anything bad about her. I've heard only great things about Angel Flights, they're an excellent organization. It sounds like you have an awesome pilot. So you'll be calling CT in AZ on Monday? > > > > > > > > > --- In Plagiocephaly , " stripes6060 " <taime@o...> wrote: > > > > > > > > > > Thanks, DD's photos looked like her's were not too bad.
