Guest guest
Whenever I've had pain it usually starts in the middle of my back, just below my shoulder blades and, after a day or so, radiates around to my sternum/upper right quadrant area. If it's severe pain I have to walk kind of hunched-over to compensate for the back and front pain. Only once did I experience the itching and for the two or three days that I did it was horrid. I could not sleep but could only itch. Any kind of food bothered me, greasy or bland and it felt as though it was just sitting there in a knot near my liver. Very tired, etc. Only had four attack so far. Hope everyone else is faring well. - Shanna UC-'04 PSC-'

Guest guest
I've had 4 bouts that drove me to the ER room. I just had an ERCP yesterday at Henry Ford Hospital. It ook 7 tries to get the iv, and they ended up putting it in my neck. I came out of it well, got dressed and went home. The ride home was torture, I was uncomfortable, my abdomen hurt (which was probably the gas), and my back between my shoulder blades hurt. Closer to home I started feeling nauseous. I walked through the door of home, and started vomiting. I layed on the floor in the bathroom for about an hour, and I heard the dog outside the door, opened it up and told her to go get " daddy " , she went in the living room, bit at his finger and started pulling him. He came to check on me and I said, " get me to the ER' " I couldn't walk, I was dehydrated and so sick. The local ER of couse does not deal with transplants, so they wanted to treat this casually and rule 'everything' out. When they wanted me to sit in the waiting room, I started to pass out so they put me in a wheel chair and started to get my info. I told her I was going to get sick and that this could wait, and she no it couldn't....I started vomiting again and she decided to have me put in a room. After several attemps they got the iv started and gave me demerol and something for nausea. Within a minute I felt no more pain, and pretty much didn't care what they did to me. I remember someone came to get me to take chest exrays to check for perforation, but found nothing. They said it wasn't pancreatitis. They sent me home after 4 hours. I slept from 1am Thursday morning until 7:30am Friday, tried to go to work, but couldn't do it....this heatwave in Michigan is dehydrating me too bad. Henry Ford called to check to see if I tolerated the procedure well....and I told her what happened. She seems to think it was probably mild pancreatitis...MILD??????? Oh baby I don't EVEN want to know what moderate or full-blown pancreatitis is. I got severe pancreatitis once after an ERCP and ended up in hospital for over 8 WEEKS!!! So I think yours might well have been mild 'cos pancreatitis is always nasty.
