first neph visit

Hi everyone,

I am new to igan and had my first neph visit and had a couple of

questions. I've only had hematuria for a year and a half and my

serum creatinine has gone from .8 a year ago to 1.0 now and my bp is

between 140 and 154. A random check of protein showed 30 mg. My

neph put me on 10 mg of monopril and is having me do a random protein

and creatinine clearance check in 4 months to see if I need a biopsy

and to be put on prednisone. I felt like I should be doing a 24-hr

collection because sometimes during the day my urine is very foamy

and other times it is not at all. I also wondered if I should have

the biopsy sooner to see if I have the more rapidly progressive form

of igan. My neph is very kind and spent a lot of time with me and I

didn't want to question his course of treatment, but I was curious

what other people think. Thanks for all the info and support.
