Guest guest
Hi , I am sorry you had to go through a biopsy. Good news though about it looking as if the IgAN is not showing up in the new kidney. Let us know about the BK virus. I for one had never heard of it before reading your link. > Hello all, > > I got a biopsy last week on my new kidney because of my concern about the gradual rise in creatinine since my low of 1.2. Over that past 6 months, I have gradually risen to 1.7 with a couple little jumps doen a then or so. They did the Biopsy last Thursday and called on Monday with the results which ended up not telling me anything then. The Doc. says that whe is going to send the biopsy off so that they can test it for the BK virus. I lhave attached a site that discribes this. I have not heard of this before, and Docs usually test these things to make sure that it isn't that problem. They did say that it didn't look like the IGA is effecting it. Soooo, anyway, I am going to have to wait to hear from where ever they sent the biopsy. Here is a site that discribes it. http://www.viracor.com/diagnostic-virals-bk_overview.htm > > > > >

Guest guest
, I'm sorry you have to be going through all this. Three cheers to you for so persistently getting in their face about it. I find it fundamentally very scary when patients have to do that. Not all of us have your intelligence or your persistence. Guest guest
Well the blood test is back and I do show mild BK virus. The docs want me to stop my celcep and then get tested next month. They say that it is the immunosuppressant that let this virus bother the transplanted kidney. If, when I am tested next month, I show no virus, they will slowly start me on the celep again. Isn't it interesting that I was the one that brought it to the doctor's attention. Sometime they need us laymen. So, there, take that you docs.!!!!! Guest guest
, I am disappointed that you came back positive. I really hope that the Cellcept adjustment will help to stabilize the BK Virus.
