Ok we just got to grandmas house now after out fitting and I have a

question. Isbelle's helmet keeps shifting from side to side which ever

way she turns her head is that normal or do I just not have the helmet

on tight enough? please let me know.

Thanks

OK I know how it goes. You are worried about everything. My first

question is what kind of band do you have. My son has a DOC band, so

I only know a bit about them and I am not sure if they are all the

same. We have only had my son's for 3 weeks. It does shift slightly

from side to side. It is a bit cumbersome and awkward for the first

week or so. A bit hard to adjust to. When we went back for the 1 week

check up they made some adjustments and it was much better, but still

shifts a bit. Good luck on your journey!

Madison and Bradley are in Docbands. Bradley's never shifted. Madison's shifted so much it would cover her eyes and ears. When we went for adjustments the technicians at CT shaved a lot off the front so that the shift wouldn't cover Maddie's eyes and we got permission to pull the Velcro tight enough to eliminate movement. We had to buy additional Velcro to cover the exposed Velcro b/c the poor baby was getting stuck to the carpet when she would roll around. Now the helmet stays in place and doesn't seem to bother her.

Hi ,

Some shifting is normal. It shouldn't cover her ears or interfer w/her

view. The velcro isn't meant for tightening the band. You just put the

band on and close the velcro, you don't need to pull it tight.

Keep us posted on how she's doing.

Hi --it was nice to meet you and Isabelle and Isabelle's daddy

yesterday. 's helmet is shifting too--a lot actually. It was fine

when he was sitting up but once we got home and I laid him on the floor

to play with his Elmo gym it kept shifting to the right to the point it

slid over his left ear. I tried getting the velcro tighter but

couldn't. Jon is going to do the 3 hours on etc thing today but I

doubt we'll put him in it over night tonight. has a re-check

tomorrow at 1. I can't go along but I told Jon to make sure they lay

him down on the floor and let him roll around so they can observe and

see what they need to do to fix it. I remember Colin's shifting some

(he had a different type of band) but 's is shifting excessively. I

know it's because he had that growth spurt between casting and banding

and Josie had to shave a lot out to relieve the friction spots we were

experiencing. I hope they can get it fixed on Thursday.

Otherwise how is Isabelle adapting? was fine when it wasn't

shifting around other than he got really hot at one point last night.
