Guest guest
SS, In my experience, the antibiotic eye ointment works wonders and is nothing to be afraid of. A month or two sounds about right. Wash your face and hands with Dial soap, do warm compresses, and eyelid scrubs, if prescribed, and then pull lower lid down and squeeze antibiotic ointment along lower lid. The ointment kind of melts and gets to the top lid too. Oral tetracycline helps a lot and if you take it correctly with plenty of water and not at bedtime, it may not bother you. Also I find it absolutely necessary to stay away from ALL alcohol as that really bothers my eyes. Best to not use any eye makeup while you are treating this, throw away all old makeup and buy new when you are healed. To remove eye makeup try the eyelid scrub pads, Ocusoft, and rinse afterwards. Read my past posts on borage and flax oils as they help with the eye problems so much. Vitamin E with Selenium and a good multiple helps too. You can get better! Hang in there SS. Guest guest
What do you mean that you have " not been right since you tooik antibiotics internally " ? I have ocular rosacea and have used antibiotic drops and antibiotics plus cortisone. They don't work any more for me. I suspect that the cortisone containing drops worsened the problem but can't be sure. I am now back on an oral antibiotic and have been slowly improving for the last two months. I was able to use the antibiotics when I found that digestive enzymes stopped my diahrrea. If my ocular rosacea had not been so bad I would not have gone on the antibiotic. I am anxious to get my eyes cleared up and try my luck off the antibiotics. I am also not eating sugar or flour products. In other words I eat mostly meat, green vegetables and fruit. I suspect that Candida is part of the problem for many of us and plan to reduce the fruit for a while when I stop the antibiotic. I take most of the vitamins and minerals the Mark has recommended and am trying to chew my food longer and better. Little by little I feel that I am doing better. FYI I have acne rosacea and not the redness, subderm and itching that so many talk about. Hope this is helpful.
