" I wonder if it would be ok to wean him from b milk

during the day and just nurse when I'm with him so I could at least turn in

the pump. "

Yes! I was planning on doing that too (my baby will be 1 in August) but

decided to keep pumping for a while longer purely for financial reasons :)

I think the general guideline is 10mo when your body can adjust to part/time

breastfeeding. Some women in previous generations did it successfully from

the end of maternity leave. The trick is to go slowly, I think I read drop

one pump/bf session per week.

Are you on the pumping moms list? Check out www.pumpingmoms.org. I joined

both since they focus on pumping (some of the moms are not able to bf).

Lynn,

I am glad I did. I know many babies do great going from bottle to nursing

but neither of mine did. It is just something to be aware of, I certainly

wasn't. :D

Re: PT Breastfeeding

Ooh, that's good to know. I have been working on the sippy cup to no avail,

she just likes to nurse or have a bottle, so it sounds like that is

definately a first step for me.

Thanks so much for sharing that!

My first two kids never had trouble switching from bottle to

nursing either, but my last one sure did, dh wanted to be able

to feed him so I catch some zzz's but ds would refuse to nurse

again. Go figure how kids are so different...Now I also say if

you can bf w/o using a bottle then do so!!!!!!! But like I said

my first two didn't have a problem, I just think it is best not

to risk it :)
