Guest guest
Hi Pam, I too have noticed color changes, my eyes used to be pure copper brown with a grey ring around them. Now they are brown with green specks and the grey ring. For awile I thought it was my new bathroom with the reflection of my green tiles, but no, it shows in other rooms as well. My hair has gotten to be a really dull dark brown. It used to be nice shiney golden brown. At least I can fix that with dye if I want to. :)Pam B. Guest guest
Pam B, Let me know if they change, later on down the road. I know what you mean about thinking it is the reflection. I finally started looking at them in bright day light on the car, just for this reason. No variables there. Hair getting dull seems to be a common theme, but once folks get treated, that part seems to go away. The other thing since I am in normal levels, and my hair grew back, it is straight. Never was before. Always have lots of waves, that hair dressers said were wonderful. Now it is like I ironed my hair. ( remember when we used to do that? ). Good thing I like it this way. I always had looked at women with long straight hair, and wondered how they did that. -Pam- breaks over... back to work. Wish I could see all of you in chat tonight. Guest guest
Pam - I've got the same thing going on. Had white blonde hair as a child and it gradually got darker until it was " dishwater blonde " as my friends called it. Then it got browner in my 20s and in the last year since I've had GD, it's really a dark brown with a few blonde highlights in it. Most disturbing are my first grey hairs since I was diagnosed. Now, I wouldn't mind this so much if I also didn't start having acne, too. It should be one or the other, not both - that's just not fair! My eyes change too, depending on what I wear. They are supposed to be blue and were as a kid, but in 20s became almost green. Now they're mostly hazel. I'd like it if they'd turn blue again - you've given me something to look forward to! Hair and eye color >While we are at it... >I have wondered and wondered about this. > >My hair and eye color changes. A lot ! > >I was a light blonde until about 4 yr. old. Guest guest
Oh , Thank goodness there is an other alien here. ( Thanks Terry , LOL ) Yes, my eyes have always changed with what I wear, but the REAL change in color is real. It is so amazing to live inside this body . You can see why the SUDDEN change to real blonde was even freaking me out. ( the mirror ) My eyes really turned blue somewhere after I had been close to a normal level for about a year. Much head scratching when it became obvious. Thus the evening checking my old pictures, just to be sure. The picture on my drivers license was about 10 yr. old when my Graves was at its worse. Anyone that looked at it, did several double takes. Now, even though I am older, I look at lot more like that picture. This is all pretty cool, in my opinion. Now I am so glad I asked. -Pam- PS , Maybe your gray will go away. Mine did. But my skin cleared up when I got Graves. Hope that doesn't come back. I never thought wrinkles and acne were very fair at all.
Guest guest
My hair was white blonde as a child, too, and turned to " dishwater " as I hit my mid-twenties. My eyes were blue until I was 8 years old, then they turned green. I mean permanently changed. My eyes change with what I wear now, from green to hazel to gold.
