Guest guest
Hi there..good luck to you and carson My advice would be to: If you don't live near the CT..plan to stick around the area for several hours; just in case Carson gets red irration marks - you can just go back and have it adjusted. Rather than driving back home hours away..i'm talking from experience lol..WHile at CT Carson will be checked for red irritation marks, how the band sits on his head, any adjustments will be made at that time. Good luck to you.. Hazel and Andres, 16 months old, Docband #2 1/16/06 > > Carson had his casting last week, and he is going in to CT to get his > band tomorrow. Guest guest
Good luck tomorrow. Hazel has some good advice. We are 150 miles one way so we had 2 fit appointments the same day. The first was at 9:30 and the second at 1:30. With na we actually spent the night at a friend's house. Anyway, make sure you understand how to take it off and put it back on - practice. If you don't get it ask and ask and practice and then practice some more. Don't be worried if your son is a bit fussy with all this off and on. You will get better and he will care less Ask about the redness of red spots. There is a difference between light pink and angry red. Get a good understanding what is alraming and what is not. (Don't worry you can ask us on Saturday night when you forget). Ask if anyone will be available over the weekend to call. If not ask if you should attempt to let him wear it if a spot doesn't fade in an hour - ie let it fade all the way and then attempt to wear again (with frequent checks). Make sure you udnerstand the cleaning process. 91% alcohol on a rough washcloth - rub the inside - let it dry. Don't use a lot of alcohol. If your child has sensitive skin discuss the use of hydrocortizone cream for rashes and irritation (Kiersten needed some the first few days for her usual eczema spot on the sideburn area - it's fine now). Keep an eye for overheating, not as likely in winter. However, for the first few days your child may sweat more as his body adjusts to the extra layer. YOu may need to adjust his night time attire. Of course if he wakes up in the middle of the night you may have taken too much off and he may be cold Kiersten, 8 months, DOC Band 1/10/06, Tort na, 2 1/2 yrs, DOC Grad Feb 04, Tort Resolved www.thefilyaws.com > > > > Carson had his casting last week, and he is going in to CT to get > his > > band tomorrow. Guest guest
Thanks to all for the great suggestions. Fortunately, we're a heck of a lot closer than 150 miles. More like 15 (and naturally we grumble about how inconvenient that is -- it's so easy to forget how lucky you are). We're only a few hours in but Carson is doing fine. Guest guest
Miles are not minutes in Miami. Depending on time of day, the trip can take 30-60 minutes. But I can see that we are still lucky. So far so good, at any rate. Carson really doesn't seem to mind.andy On Jan 20, 2006, at 9:22 PM, wrote: Yeah Carson.
