Guest guest
I don't know what having tonsils removed will do, but 22% kidney function, if it is chronic, is pretty much already end-stage renal failure. Most people would only be months away from needing dialysis, maybe a year or two, but many can carry on at that level for a long time still. With 22% kidney function, it's no longer the IgAN that you have to worry about. Its effects are minor compared to the hyperfiltration that the kidneys do to try and maintain enough function. That wears what's left very quickly, usually. I also don't know about vitamin C. At that stage, they only wanted me to take special renal vitamins that have only a relatively small dose of vitamin C in them. I think megadose vitamin C would definitely not be a good idea. Guest guest
Hi Emili, I agree with the responses. If your friend is down to 22%, it is time to start talking about options. Sorry your friend has advanced so much.
Guest guest
That is one thing I am looking forward to ...no more potassium restrictions! That and the end of batttling anemia too :-) I think it is fantastic that you are Barbara are doing so much to promote organ donation. It is so important to give back and think of all the lives you can positively impact too. Keep up the great work.
