Guest guest
Has anyone been diagnosed with PCP after transplantation? has just been diagnosed with it - her transplant was 4/05 and she did receive the prophylactic treatments post-transplant. I am just wondering if the docs need to reassess her transplant meds - she is still on Cellcept and also Prograf. Any insights would be helpful. Guest guest
Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia is an opportunistic infection that lives in an immunosupressed environment. It is likely that 's doctors will evaluate her level of immunosupression and see if they can lower it a little. Guest guest
-----Original Message----- Anyway, PCP is pneumocystis pneumonia which immunosuppressed patients can get but and probably, you received prophylactic bronchial treatment post-transplant for this. I am just looking for anyone who has had this problem post-transplant There is an excellent web site (Stanford) that lists all sorts of post transplant “stuff”, including PCP. http://med.stanford.edu/shs/txp/livertxp/outpatient.management/management.html HTH Barb in Texas
