greatly worsened over the last 3 years due to non-treatment. This

is because my TSH was always normal. I finally got antibodies and

have been diagnosed by that, multi-nodular goiter and signs and

symptoms. My original diagnosis was CFS. I'm taking plenty of

adrenal support, but I get palps even when I raise really slowly

like by 1/4 grain every two weeks. Any suggestions before I go into

heart failure from untreated hypo?

Multi-nodular goiter, inability to tolerate thyroid hormone even though

hypo, and normal TSH despite being very hypoT are classic signs of iodine

insufficiency. Check out www.iodine4health.com.

I got on the Iodoral from Lynn's research and suggestion to check it

out, and I noticed a difference right away. (Was I supposed to? I don't

know...) Apparently there are other forms that are less expensive

than the Iodoral though....it's just the first one I got my hands on.

I have done three things lately that have made a big difference:

I started using the Iodoral., got on GammaGrow and reduced my Armour,

adding in instead, straight T3, via Cytomel.

I am feeling much better, and feel like I am going to have a life

again...hopefiully some day soon....I feel it coming.

TK:

I take thyrolar. I'm on good adrenal support, but will increase from 15 to 20

mgs. incase that's part of the problem. My heart is racing again today from

yesterday's raise of 1/8 of a grain.

Lynn,

This iodine deficiency makes lots of sense. My only concern now is that I've

been told when you have the autoimmunity on the thyroid (which I do) per

elevated TPO's, that iodine can make the situation much worse...what to do?

In an interview with Shomon in the late 1990's, Dr. Brownstein

said giving iodine to someone with Hashi's was like pouring gasoline on a

fire. Shortly after that, he started researching iodine/iodide in earnest.

He has now reversed his position 180 degrees and feels Hashi's can be due to

iodine deficiency. I believe the issue of iodine and autoimmune thyroid

disease is addressed at iodine4health.com, and if not there, at the iodine

yahoo group or in the files of that group, and in Dr. Brownstein's book

about iodine.

Sounds like you need iodine. Thyroid hormones (whether made by

thyroid or taken via supplementation) can't work unless you have high

enough levels of iodine in body.

See the following websites and read through the various papers

written about thyroid/iodine. Also, the first site has a test you

can order that determines whether you need iodine or not.

www.helpmythyroid.com/iodine.htm

www.optimox.com (search for Idoral)

www.bodyworks.com/modifilan.html (another supplement rather like

Indoral)
