One of the side effects of Prednisone is to gain too much pounds????? because I just gained like 12 pounds and it is just water retention. I am not taking prednisone yet. Please let me know it. Edema (retaining water) can also occur with compromised renal function, regardless of what medications you take. It can have pretty nasty side effects in some people (this is NOT universal). Many people here have been helped a lot by it.
