I certainly meant no disrespect to those who practice total abstinence. I've heard some people refer to their drinking as " extreme moderation, " which seems contradictory until you think carefully about the context. When you've been involved in a 12 step group, I think the reasons you may choose to drink (or abstain), and the way you may drink, can change.
