I'm still leery about an IUD...... What else would y'all recommend? I want to keep my supply as steady as possible, since Damia seems to be happy with it.

That is out of date information about a badly designed IUD available in the 1970's, they do not cause infertility.I had DP shots after my first child and I hated the entire experience. I bled (like on a period) every day for six months. I will never do that to my body again.AlanaGive the Gift of Life Breastfeed!http://www.lactivist.com

Hi Krista --

If you haven't had the Depo shot yet, *please* do some more research on it.

I read a lot about it on the Internet a couple of years ago and I'd never

recommend it for anyone who wanted to have more children. The biggest thing

was that I read it could cause up to 25% of the women who took it to be

infertile. Many others will not be able to conceive for 18 months or more

after their last shot.

I recently read at another website that there are women getting together a

class action lawsuit because they feel that Depo is so terrible. They have

stories about tremendous weight gain, mood swings, suicidal-type depression.

Norplant works the same way but it can be removed if you have horrible side

effects. With Depo, you have to wait out the three months and *hope* that

the side effects will go away.

> I haven't had any personal experience with them, but I've heard they can

cause permanent infertility as well. Tubal blockage of some sort I

understand...... My midwife firmly told me NOT to get one EVER! So I'm

going for Depo-Provera, since my Dr this time recommended that.

Maybe I could get fitted for a diaphragm..... My mom used one and it worked for her after she had me...... How long before you want to have sex can you put them in? I don't like condoms cause they kill spontaneity and I don't want something like that if I can help it......

Not only is NFP great birth control it is an excellent way to become very

familiar with how your body functions and then you can more effectively

monitor your health for the rest of your life.

Here is some info on NFP methods:

You can put it in a few hours before and leave it in overnight I think. and I don't have a problem with condoms because he says putting them on is half the fun lol I guess it's all in the way you look at it.

I second this recommendation for this book. It is an excellent book. I

got it from Amazon and have learned so much from it.
