Guest guest
Hey Joleen, Well, here's the thing. I can't ttc on the test cycle because the dr wants to make sure the clomid gets my progesterone up to a certain level. If I ttc'ed and the clomid doesn't work in achieving a high enough progesterone level, I can have another mc. I've already had 3 mcs and the ectopic, so he wants to make sure I don't have another one. In the past, I've gotten pg very easily--so he doesn't want to risk it unless my levels are right. Also, there's the exasperation between the HSG and the clomid test cycle. Originally, I wanted to do them both this cycle--but my insurance won't cover clomid until I get my HSG results. Always something. But now, with having to go on the pill, I couldn't do clomid anyway. Oy vey,

Guest guest
- Argh! That's so frustrating. Just when you thought dealing with your body was the toughest part, here comes another frustration. Can you pay for the Clomid yourself to speed things up? Or is it too expensive? I am sorry this is dragging out for so long. a

Guest guest
How frustrating. But most important you can have the HSG this month. I think that is a good plan. Why do you have to do the Clomid Challenge test? Pam

Guest guest
Hey a, Well, it's not the clomid that's expensive. It's the U/S, blood tests and doctor's interpretations (that go along with clomid) that are expensive. I already have the clomid pills, and they cost me a wopping $3 with my prescription plan. It is frustrating to say the least. It's nice to know I have a good dr, but if he's never available, what good is it?

Guest guest
Pam, The clomid challenge test (you crack me up) was part of the original protocol even before my ep. It basically relates back to my previous miscarriages and is a way for the doctor to see if my progesterone can get up to the levels it needs to in order to sustain a pg-- without risking another lost baby. I am excited that I can have the HSG because deep inside I really don't know how I'll be able to ttc anyway since I have that mass in there. In all seriousness, I'm thinking the HSG will show I need surgery or IVF. I truly hope I'm wrong, but how can I ttc when I have a major mass in one tube? You know what I mean? I just want some answers and look forward to seeing this dr that I haven't seen or spoke to since the day I got the first metho injection (and was in tears). Guest guest
I am feeling the EXACT same way about that stupid HSG... my 2nd AF should be here within a week or two - probably more like 2 weeks, my cycles are in the early 30 days range, and this test is on my mind constantly. I just want to get it over with and put this chapter behind me, and move on. Whatever moving on means, whether its an ok to ttc or whether its another kind of treatment or WHATEVER, I'm ready for that chapter. Enough of this! , I'm really happy you got the ok for the HSG, even with the delay! I feel for you! I remember when I was on the pill, it could be started the day AF shows, or that first Sunday following. But the reason to start on Sunday was to make sure you don't get AF on a weekend, so if you aren't concerned with when you're getting it, just to stop o'ing, I would start today. Double check with your dr if you aren't sure. Jen
