Guest guest Posted September 17, 2001 Report Share Posted September 17, 2001 Hi Jo, and welcome to the fibromyalgia list! If you don't mind my asking, what was it that the Dr. did wrong with your surgery? You will like this list. It is very caring and helpful! Carol Hello, Here is my info. I was looking around for a support group for CFS & Fibro. I found you all. I thought I would spend some time here to see if I fit in and felt comfortable. From what we are trying to figure out, I possible got the Fibro because my body starved for 22 months following an gastric Bypass weight loss surgery. It's a long story but the damage that surgery did to me is not reversible and it's severe. The Dr. " goofed " up, and now I'm disabled for life. I'm looking forward to meeting you all. ~ Jo Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted September 18, 2001 Report Share Posted September 18, 2001 Hello, It's a pretty long story but in short. I had a weightloss surgery in Nov. 1996. The DR bypassed too much of my small intestine on purpose. I feel he used me for a guinea pig. I was one of the biggest patients in the beginning. He told me to my face that he bypassed more on me that usual, there is no way I could ever gain weight. anyway my body starved for a good 22 months. I was living on just my body fat. Since I had no vitamins or nutrients or anything my body had nothing to live on. One Dr. believes that that is where the Fibro started. I'm not sure exactly all I know is I hurt badly. It's been worse in these last weeks or month or so. I'm on the fentynal pain patch @ 50 mg per hour. But it's not as much help as it used to be. I have a whole list of things " wrong with me " because of that surgery. My Body went into shock with the 2nd (total of 7, may have gone into shock with them all) surgery since my body was already so ill. and that seems to be when everything started. Here is my list..... Fibromanalgia, Insomnia, Chronic fatigue syndrome, Depression, Anxiety Blackouts, Malabsorbtion, Hypoglycemia, Eating disorder, Migraines I guess some of these things go hand in hand I'm trying to learn all I can, This way I know what my body needs. and I can figure out what's the best for me. IM really looking forward to meeting you all. ~ Jo Hi Jo, and welcome to the fibromyalgia list! If you don't mind my asking, what was it that the Dr. did wrong with your surgery? Guest guest Posted September 18, 2001 Report Share Posted September 18, 2001 Thank you for the welcome (thanks to all of you) I'm so happy I found you all. I own a mailing list for Pet lovers and my list is very loving and supportive as well. we get off subject a lot and we are a very close knit group. we know what's going on in each other lives and offer lots of good thoughts & prayers & support. This looks to be another great group of supportive people. I'm very excited to be here and learn all I can. I have researched alot but with my memory " issues " I seldom remember the things I need to unless I take notes. That is something I should explain quickly too. since I went with out any Vitamin B-12 for so long I have had some actual brain damage done to my brain. I have a horrible memory, I cant remember much but there are some thing that do just pop into my mind like they have always been there, And I have many time is cant remember what I'm talking about in mid sentence. I realize that happens a lot of people. but with me it's constant it never stops. It's hard to explain. I also have brain seizures. it's not like epilepsy, Everything goes all weird and it feels as if somebody has their hand on my brain squeezing it. I have blood vessel spasms in my brain as well. I also suffer from Blackouts. where I loose time. they have been really bad. iv been lucky for a while and they have been small, my last big one was last Christmas I lost 2 1/2 days. I still function and everything I just have no memory of it. If I do have a slight memory it's like a faded dream that only last a second. They are no fun and have caused some really horrible things to happen recently, I just cant talk about them yet. It's a lot to explain and to try to make it understandable is not easy at all. If you have any questions or don't understand how I'm saying something please feel free to ask I will do the best I can. I feel it's important to know the whole deal or as much as possible so you understand what is going on. Life, health wise is a complete horror, it might be a nice relief to share it with people who understand and have " been there " IM extremely fortunate to have a very wonderful loving and supportive family. My Husband is wonderful and my children as well. That's another story on it's own. again I'm excited to be here. How many people are on this list, actively? I was just wondering how many people I would be sharing my life with, and if every member is active or if there are a lot of lurkers. thanks again! ~~~ Jo, Miloe, Harley Ann, Teddy Bear, Maximillion, Max, Drako, & , Fluff & 4 left of 7 of 's last litter Join my mailing list for pet lovers Just click here...... http://www.yahoogroups.com/subscribe/FurKids <http://www.yahoogroups.com/subscribe/FurKids> other ways to contact me.... That is something I
should explain quickly too. since I went with out any Vitamin B-12 for
so long I have had some actual brain damage done to my brain. I have a
horrible memory, I cant remember much but there are some thing that do
just pop into my mind like they have always been there, And I have many
time is cant remember what I'm talking about in mid sentence. I realize
that happens a lot of people. but with me it's constant it never stops.
It's hard to explain. I also have brain seizures. it's not like
epilepsy, & nbsp; Everything goes all weird and it feels as if somebody has
their hand on my brain squeezing it. I have blood vessel spasms in my
brain as well. I also suffer from Blackouts. where I loose time. they
have been really bad. iv been lucky for a while and they have been
small, my last big one was last Christmas I lost 2 1/2 days. I still
function and everything I just have no memory of it. If I do have a
slight memory it's like a faded dream that only last a second. They are
no fun and have caused some really horrible things to happen recently, I
just cant talk about them yet. It's a lot to explain and to try to make
it understandable is not easy at all.
If you have any questions or don't understand how I'm saying something
please feel free to ask I will do the best I can. I feel it's important
to know the whole deal or as much as possible so you understand what is
going on.
Life, health wise is a complete horror, it might be a nice relief to
share it with people who understand and have & quot;been there & quot; IM extremely
fortunate to have a very wonderful loving and supportive family. My
Husband is wonderful and my children as well. That's another story on
it's own.
again I'm excited to be here.
How many people are on this list, actively? I was just wondering how
many people I would be sharing my life with, and if every member is
active or if there are a lot of lurkers. thanks again!
~~~ Jo, Miloe, Harley Ann, Teddy Bear, Maximillion, Max, Drako, & amp;
, Fluff & amp; 4 left of 7 of 's last litter
Join my mailing list for pet lovers
Just click here......
http://www.yahoogroups.com/s\ ubscribe/FurKids
& lt;http://www.yahoogroups.com/s\ ubscribe/FurKids & gt;
other ways to contact me....
ICQ =44666258
AOL/AIM = LVLOTION
MSN= cathyjo6697
e-mail= & nbsp; cathyjo@... & lt;mailto:cathyjo@... & gt;
Welcome ,
I was writing to you and sent out a blank message so I will start over.
I am
so sorry to read about the suffering that you have gone through and
still
are. & nbsp; We are a good group. & nbsp; Friendly, caring, loving and very
supportive.
I hope that you will find that this list is one that you feel
comfortable
with and any questions, just ask, we will try to help.
Take care,
Irene
co-moderator
[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted September 18, 2001 Report Share Posted September 18, 2001 Hello CAthyjo Welcome to the group. It's good to talk as when we do we find out that we have so much in common. My brain works faster than my hands can write, but having the computer as been a great help as I can keep up and If I make mistakes I can always rectify it before sending and not have to rewrite everything as I used to have to do before computers came around. Guest guest Posted September 19, 2001 Report Share Posted September 19, 2001 Hi Lorraine, Thanks for the welcome.....U know what..my brain does that to. when it isn't running 100 mph it's standing still not moving at all. The worst for me is typing. If I don't look at the key bored I do just fine. but if I look I screw it all up. (but I always have to look.....go figure!) My brain works faster then my fingers most days while on the computer. it sure is frustrating LOL Thank god for spell check is all I can say hehe ~~~ Jo Hello CAthyjo Welcome to the group.
