have you tried ice. i freeze wet towels, and then they can take the

shape of a knee. frozen peas work well. apply ice several times a

day for 10-15 min or so.

it seems to me that the swelling on my dad's knee took a long time to

come down too, after surgery. the knee was so painful at first. i

would ask the doctor for some pain medication, narcotics. doctors

should not allow people to tough out the pain - it's inhumane.

i don't know if adrenal cortex would help. cortef would.

Urgent: Need post-op help

My husband had knee surgery on Tuesday and was supposed to be up and

around in 3 days and instead his knee is still the size of monster

grapefruit. He has ulcerative colitis so cannot take non-steroidal

antiinflammatories and has arsenic toxicity as well. I assume one of

these is the culprit regarding his frequent overblown inflammatory

response to physical trauma. The docs are not listening regarding our

request for steroids and I am at a loss as to what to do at this

point. (I have arsenic/thallium/mercury toxicity and have an overblown

response to trauma as well) Would adrenal cortex extract be of any

help in this instance? Any other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,

Arnica is a good homeopathic remedy for trauma. You can get the small

tablets to take orally as well as cream or oil to rub on the swelling.

You could also dissolve the tablets in oil or water to rub on the area

as well as taking them orally. Keep it away from the surgical cut as it

burns on open wound.
