Guest guest
I also found this one - I think it's from Holli... it's a lotion bar... 1 oz. beeswax 2.5 oz. monoi de tahiti oil 2 oz. coconut oil Melt beeswax. Add other oils. I didnt' add any fragrance because my monoi is the gardenia (YUM) scented. This bar is a bit softer than some but you could double the beeswax and make it harder... Guest guest
D..oh! LOL OK - well, I've never used it in soap... I've used it in lotion bars...heaven... I have a recipe I made up...but it's got lots of exotic oils... and I just made a lotion with it... needs some work though - feels a little greasy... But it'll be great for vacation... Here's what Janet said: " How much do you use in a CP recipe? Or could someone share a recipe for this oil? " And, since you love it, I figured you'd have a recipe laying around. Believe it or not, I have some monoi but haven't used it yet! I get these weird ideas that, when it's expensive, I should save it for something " special " . Yet " special " never comes and it sits in my fridge! *L* ~ (Listmom - Soapmaking101) ..:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:. Guest guest
Hi , I tired to search my archives for an easy explanation of monoi for you, but could not find one quickly. So I copied this from Kibby's Site-FNWL so you could at least get a general idea of it's uses. I know it is available in different scents, and also unscented, it is used in lotions allot, may also be used in soap. HTH? Monoi de Tahiti (Scented) (0019) A truly beautiful exotic oil from Polynesia. The word Monoi means scented oil. It is created by soaking/macerating Tiare petals in refined coconut oil for 15 days. True Monoi de Tahiti carries an " Appellation of Origin " guarantee and is produced under very controlled manufacturing methods to ensure the highest quality oil. Use this oil in creams, lotions, soaps and other recipes but first be sure to enjoy it straight from the bottle.
