Guest guest
I'm so sorry that your son is experiencing this. Seizures are scary, and the possibility of seizure disorder on top of everything else is- well, almost more than one should have to bear. I'm sure you know to call for an ambulance if a seizure lasts for more than 5 minutes (this is an emergent situation). Other than that, most seizures are harmless. Many times, the reason for them is never discovered. I'm sure you've heard all this before...and I'm glad I'm not in your shoes. It's easy for me to sit here and tell you this, but I've never had my own children seize either. > Gabe had another seizure tonight. > > Rhythmic blinking for about 5 seconds. I'm glad they're very brief at least. What's concerning me is that he's already behind in his language skills and if he continues to have seizures and be groggy or asleep afterward, this could slow him down more. He can't learn when he's asleep. If the first EEG comes back inconclusive, I really think you should push for a 24 hour one. You need to know what's going on. He may need to be medicated, especially if he's having seizures you're not aware of. ( I know how frightening this is.
