Let's try and experiments, okay?

Let's change that thought that 'driving is hard', to

'driving is fun', and see what happens, okay?

Lately everything and anything hurts me and I have reached the point where I

can't take it much more. This is also exhausting me out (on top of it). I

hate to vent - sorry guys!

Wishing you all a pain free day.

Hi Sue

I understand what you are trying to do, but no amount of telling myself

" driving is fun " would have worked with my knee and the clutch. Every time

I tried driving a stick shift, my knee would swell and ache, I never tried

to make it harder for myself by telling myself how awful driving with a

clutch was, but telling myself " driving is fun " wouldn't have changed

anything either. My solution was to stop driving stick shifts unless I

absolutely have to. My knee is much happier for it.

I did work part time as Princess House crystal counsultant while in the

Navy. The one higher up lady had told us that if we were ever in a bad

mood, just try telling ourselves that we were happy. So one day I set out

for a crystal party, in an awful mood, I was running late, my hose had run,

it was really hot and I kept banging the heavy box of crystal into my calf.

So as I marched along I kept muttering between clenched teeth " I'm happy,

I'm oh so happy, I'm happy, I'm oh so happy. " Finally I had to start

laughing because it was all so absured! I wasn't happy! It did put me in a

better mood, so I know what you are trying to do, but I am not sure trying

to overcome physical pain like was describing is the easiest thing to

try, at least not as a first exercise in this.

I'm not trying to put you or your methods down because I think they do have

a lot of merit, I just didn't want someone to either feel like we weren't

hearing what they were saying or feeling discouraged if their first try to

rethink the way they think of things did work out very well.

I understand, Darcy, and I remember saying that it

couldn't work. I only have my own experiences to go

on. The doctor told me that I need new knees, but

that I'm too youg, so I'm familiar with what you're

talking about. Let's just say, that I've had my own

experiences, and even tho' I didn't believe it was

possible, it worked. If it had been up to me to

believe it, well I'd never have tried. My favorite

new saying now is not " seeing is believing " , but,

" believing is seeing " .

Take care and have a great day, okay?
