Guest guest
Hi Gena, >>>>>>just have to tell this before I get going through them .............. 205 this morning! I don't know why but I'm not going to complain! <<<<< OK. I know that you went back to 207 again but look at it this way. If you are going to 'vary' around 207 lbs better to vary downwards to 205 than upwards by 2 lbs. WHO CARES WHY????????????????????????????????? Just jump for joy and don't ask difficult questions - what wonderful news for you!!!!!! I'm so excited it almost feels like it is me there at 205 (I wish!!!) Gena, your posts are a constant source of joy - I love reading about your 'mishaps' and 'upsets' because you have such a great way of describing them. Anything from a confrontation with a moose, tripping over Misty, clearing out a desk, falling after getting a bowling ball stuck on your hand, chasing dogs who have chased a rabbit, the weather, your workouts - my goodness Gena you can even make clearing the house and going to the dentist sound like compelling 'must do' activities. Thank you so much for all the details - I LOVE reading about your 'boring, stay at home' days. LOL >>>>>Tomorrow we are going to 's (chiro) to help chop down some trees. He is clearing his property to build a house on and we can always use some firewood.<<<<< Well, if you are going to indulge in backbreaking work you might just as well do it when there is a chiro in the vicinity!!! >>>>You are going to meet Geula?????!!!!!! I am soo envious!!!!!!! You will have to give her a great big huge hug for me!<<<<< Yep, I sure am. Did I perhaps mention that I am just a TEENY TINY bit looking forward to her visit??? We haven't set a date yet but she is arriving in Holland in about a week's time to saty with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. She's coming to Haarlem by train from the east of the country - we did invite the whole family but she says she prefers to come alone. We have no definite plans yet but I suspect a spot of sight-seeing might ne in order. >>>> Don't worry about " only " 2.5 lbs this month. Just keep at it. Were you drinking as much water as normal? I know when I'm on the go like that I don't drink as much. let me remind you, I had actually gone a whole year without losing and actually gained about 15 back. I have finally lost some of that. I have been as high as 212 lately, my weight fluctuates a lot so it never stayed there for long but now am 205, the lowest it has been since December. Perseverance pays off. Sometimes when your not losing it's because the body is adjusting and you just have up thing a notch to get it going again. Just hang in there. You are doing wonderfully!<<<< Thanks Gena, I need all the encouragement I can get right now. If I don't watch how I go carefully enough and I over indulge then I know I only have myself to blame. On the other hand it sure is a bit off-putting see that the scales don't reflect weeks of good eating, water drinking and lots of exercise. I hope I didn't 'blow everything' last night. We visited friends for dinner - is Dutch and his wife Cristina is Romanian. Yesterday was Cristina's Easter (Orthodox Easter) so they were having a special dinner to celebrate. In Romania there is an Easter tradition which Cristina follows here so we learned the words too and were able to join in. They dye ordinary hard -boiled eggs various bright colours then everyone takes an egg and holds it. One person holds their egg still with the end upright and someone else lowers the pointed end of their egg down on the 'still' egg quite hard so that both eggs crack at the end. The person who is lowering their egg says " Christos a'nviat " (Christ is risen) and the other person replies " Adevarat a'nviat " (surely risen). The person who was holding their egg still then turns their egg around and uses the unbroken end to lower down on to the egg of the next person around the table until everyone has had a turn at both lowering their egg and holding their egg still. As well as eating the eggs we also had a delicious salad and a special Romanian dip/spread made from smoked aubergines. Our main course was a vegetable moussaka (Hans liked it so much he made sure to ask Cristina to e-mail me the recipe!!) and Black Forest cake for dessert. I only had a TINY piece of cake as I am not really a cake person but it was definitely quite delicious. That's about it for now, Cheers from Marie
