Beth,

I'm glad you have a supportive daughter. We all need someone like

that in our lives.

I feel your pain with eating foods that won't get you to where you

want to be.

My daughter and I had a really good conversation tonight. But in the midst of it she casually mentioned that she had noticed that I was eating a pint of ice cream (premium with a high fat content). I hadn't done that for awhile but was surprised that it hadn't gone unnoticed. She told be that she wouldn't support my ice cream habit any longer. She also mentioned that she noticed that everytime the past 24 hours I had passed the box of vanilla wafers, I was getting a handful. I didn't think anyone had noticed my behavior as I was careful to hide the evidence. She was very loving but confrontational about it. She didn't just point out problems areas but she even suggested we start going for walks in the evening with the dog and kids after dinner.

I mentioned that I had joined a gym this week. And she said fine, but she expected me to go and not waste my membership. I could complain all I want, but if she had to drag me kick and screaming I was going. I spoke to her of my goals. And she said to go for it. I just hope that my vanilla wafer episode hasn't broken my streak of no gains. My 12 week charm was one of my first goals that I have set for myself.

I want to weep as I write this. I feel so blessed to have her as a daughter and to have her concerned about my weight and supportive about my life. She and her family have given me a home after I lost my apt last fall.

Has anyone heard from ? I really hope that he makes his goal this week.

TOPS hugs and smiles,
