We have coded locks on all our doors. It has been a great relief to know that my kids can't get outside and my bedroom is off limits too! We bought them online because when you buy three or more you get a discount. They are as easy to install a a regular doornob. The company is Schlage.

I don't know the name of the company that you speak of, but the lady who runs

the ACLF near my home says that you can get alarms for each door, that will

sound when they are opened and stop when they close. She also says regular

slide chain locks at the top of each door work well and you can install them

yourself with a drill and screw driver.

Schlage sells an excellent lock for doors leading to pools. It is installed near the top of the door, and requires two-handed coordinated action to be able to work the lock. It's typically too complicated for kids, and out of reach. Re: *New * to S. Florida. Looking for School Info + help with ESE Process

Hi Stacey

We have a two sided key bolt (key on both sides). I put the key up high where the kids can not reach it or in my pocket. Has worked really well for us. We also have a simple chain lock at the top.

You can contact the Family Network on Disabilities, FND () , and they will help you with the IEP for ESE students. Robin the intake coordinator and Stacey one of the advocates, are excellent. I also have an extra booklet on accommodations, at the school level, that can be beneficial for you. Send me your address privately and I will mail it to you.

My son has a current IEP which I've just shared with the ESE Committee along with his evaluations and diagnosis.
