Guest guest
it sounds like your mother in law has reached that acceptance stage. i am pleased for you - i am sure it will make visits abit more relaxed for you. paul's mum (lives in england so her visits last a month!) read " a parent's guide to autism " and " let me hear your voice " the last time she was here. she didn't say anything about them at all. she just took them off the book shelf of her own volition and read them. the books were never discussed. but it was progress! her attitutde towards rowan and towards autism totally changed. michelle mg In-laws My in-laws are in town visiting. I guess I should be glad that my MIL hasn't asked her usual questions -- Will he outgrow it? Will he ever stop running/jumping/throwing? Will it affect his looks? etc. She did ask if he was better behaved at restaurants, which I thought was odd. She's eaten at restaurants with him for ages and he had one incident at a Mcs in Clearwater when a little girl got hurt -- it upset him and he had a complete meltdown. She's sort of accepted his " autism " and isn't offering me any more cures or anything like that. Thank goodness. I think I have Cara (Matt's niece) and her new hubby to thank for that. is still in college, but apparently he's studying in the field of child development. I know I should ask exactly what his major is, but I haven't. Anyway, Matt's step-brother, Bruce, has announced he's running for governor of Kentucky, so that will give them something to focus on besides us for a while. Thank God! Guest guest
This is better. But why does it seems so hard for them to be " good " . Is that too much to ask? I mean really. Is it? I am feeling irritated. Sorry. Anyway......You might be related to the Governor? Wow! maybe he could pull some favors in Georgia and get Boone a decent class. Wrong state, but if he wins, maybe we'll move back to KY -- LOL. From the reviews I've read this weekend, he isn't well-liked, at least not by the press.
