I looked at your web page and have to say that I like your fabrics a bit better than the Maya too -- I kept thinking while I was looking at those Southwest type patterns and colors that it would be really difficult to avoid clashing with the clothing I'm wearing unless I go back to my all black stage. Can you tell me how long it takes to get a sling ordered from you? DH was a bit skeptical of the whole thing when I bought the other one. I told him that I just wanted to try it out to decide if I even liked it and if I did, which sling I'd want. Well, the other night (after another miraculous trip to the grocery store during which did not cry), I told him that I thought I'd keep the NoJo *and* order an unpadded sling. We did another trip to the grocery store with it and was so good...this was even a longer trip, about an hour. She fell asleep and only woke up once in a while to check things out. I do have to laugh because she was kind of scrunched up in there and seemed snug as a bug. A bunch of people commented on how cute and comfy she looked in there. But I did have a cross-cultural moment today, when two African-American women commented on how they had used slings too. And on how convenient for discreet nursing they were. (I am WASP, so that makes the cross-cultural part). Anytime I can help another mom enjoy carrying her baby though, makes it worthwhile for me. The first was a guy who said he wished they'd have had something like it when they first had kids. The second was a couple -- the guy asked if it bothered my back (it doesn't) and the woman said looked very comfortable in there. I have also noticed that strangers are less likely to touch her when she's in the sling. I really hate when people do that. It's one thing if they ask, but just to touch a baby you don't know?? It happened just a couple of days ago when we had to return to the hospital to have 's 48 hr. labs redone (she's 6 weeks now, duh) and this man, who had very bad b.o. btw, started stroking her hands while I was waiting to ask the receptionist a question. I'm not good at saying, " get your hands off my baby! " so I just hurried. But now she's in my personal space, so people seem less inclined to touch.
