You might check out the homepage listed below. I believe there are some recipes there. Now for caustic soda, yes that is the same as lye. And I think that one of my best starter books I received when getting my hands wet, (excuse the pun), was The Handmade Soap Book by Melinda Coss. Some pretty basic recipes, and much smaller then the ones by Cavitch. Any others out there that can steer to a good starter book? I know The Handmade Soap Book was my favorite. Am I just not seeing something right or did I click on the wrong thing? TTYL Cindi L.
