Guest guest
First of all, it doesn't sound like you're eating enough. Seriously. And I'm sorry but it sounds boring. Oatmeal for bfast and lunch? Yuck. I mean oatmeal's great for you, but there's so many other things to eat girl! You say you ride 25 minutes to work. Anyway to walk or is it highway? I have a desk job. Do you get lunch? Bring your running shoes and walk at lunch and on your breaks, do squats in the bathroom, do pushups in the bathroom against the wall. You need snacks. Eat every 2-3.5 hours to trigger your metabolism into losing weight. Seriously, it's true. You keep your blood sugar level and your body doesn't go into survival mode. You say supper is nothing out of the ordinary, but I don't know what ordinary is in your house! Also how are your serving sizes at supper. If I ate only what you ate all day, I'd BE RAVENOUS at supper and want to eat the table too. It really seems like you are not hitting any nutritional requirements. Dairy is falling way short, not a whole lot of protein I see in there and where are the veggies and fruit? The coffee and sugar by itself in the morning on an empty stomach is actually making you hungrier througout the day by sending your blood sugar high. Chew on a piece of fruit on your commute, or some cheese or a handful of nuts or a combination of those foods. Even a lowfat granola bar or a yogurt or both. Seriously girl, it's not wonder you're not losing your body is hanging on to everything you're giving it. > get uphave ONE coffee with 2 suger and small amount of milk > > ride 25 minutes to work(yuck) > > get there and make instant oatmeal,ONE package > > sit all day on my butt at my desk > > Lunch > > oatmeal again, one pack. > > in between all thsi is water....water bleck bleck > ride home, 25 minues > > home. > > clean house > > supper, nothing ut of the ordinary > > NO WEIGHT LOSS! > > ugh > > i am on th epatch to quit smoking and no wieght GAIN, butno loss at > all > > what am i doing wriong.I have a desk job so I cant be active during > day! > > i walk to deliver avon books, buit that is only every 2nd week

Guest guest
I totally agree with . It sounds like you are not getting enough calories into your body which will shut your metabolism right down and you won't lose any weight at all. I was at a plateau last year and I think it was our wonderful Ang who convinced me to eat more and it worked! I lost more weight. You have to properly fuel your body. The oatmeal for breakfast is excellent...why not have some fruit with it! Congrats on quitting smoking! Guest guest
> I'm sure this has already been answered, just thought I'd put my two cents in. One thing, you should try to have something to eat before leaving. That is great to ride your bike to work but if you have not eaten since the night before your body has no fuel and that means diminished capacity. In other words, your starving and then doing some physical activity, your body goes into starvation mode, which means slowing down your metabolism. You can actually gain weight if you skip meals and aren't eating enough. You need to eat to lose. What to eat? Oatmeal is great for breakfast, maybe try and add some fruit. Lunch salad, soup, baked potato with salsa, skinless chicken with some rice and veggies, fruit cups, applesauce, yogurt, lots of things. You need a balance of protein, fiber ie fruits and veggies and whole grains and carbs and you need dairy. You also need a certain amount of fats, just be sure it is the good kind of fat, non saturated. It is very important to eat several times a day. Going back to the fuel for the body again. Digestion takes a lot of cals so if you eat breakfast, a snack, lunch, a snack and then dinner and maybe even another snack ( I like low fat ice cream at night) you are going to burn more cals then if you only eat once or twice a day. Become a label reader. Find out what a real portion is, how much fat, sugar, salt and stuff is in things. I'm not big on counting every little calorie but if you aren't getting results you do need to look closer at what you are doing. In addition to eating several times a day you need to know how many cals a day to eat. Everyone needs a minimum of 1200 cals a day. If you are active, you need more, if you are overweight you need more. The best formula I have seen is take your goal weight, times it by 10 for minimum, 11 if you are moderately, 12 if you are very active. So for minimum say your goal is 150, times it by 10, you need at least 1500 cals a day. If you exercise say 3-4 times a week moderately you need about another 100 a day. If you have any other questions or don't understand this, just ask.
