I forgot to mention that I've also had really bad brain fog and am

feeling pretty depressed, which is unusual because I was feeling a lot

better during and after previous rounds. Is this a normal side effect,

or should I consider dropping down the ALA dose?

If it was me? I would continue on that dose. Unless the effects are

intolerable, it's not always a bad thing to get side effects to a

point, certainly with alpha lipoic acid you are going to get symptoms.

You might have been noticing improvements on the other dose, but

sometimes it's time to increase a little and obviously you're noticing

the symptoms more now because of that.

I wouldn't really alter a dose mid round, it appears to cause some

redistribution. Some of us are just too weak, poisoned and suseptible

to take chances like that, that others might get away with just fine.

Stick to the same dose and if you want to change it, wait till you

finish the round, wait a few days and then take the dose you want to

take.

Just my personal opinion. Again, the symptoms you're getting from the

increased dose to my mind are not a bad sign, unless they're

intolerable.

I don't see why switching back and forth from DMSA to DMPS between

rounds would be much of an issue, so long as dose is kept stable and

you're not making changes mid round. But again, I'm no expert, just my

opinion.

Hard to say. I'm sure others on here will be more informative and

careful than me. I've had some awful reactions from pushing things

too far, so I certainly know how dangerous it can be. But again, I

can usually handle some side effects. if I get none and I continue

to get none, that usually tells me it's time to up the dose a bit.

So you see it's kind of finding that balance between putting up with

some symptoms, but not pushing yourself over the edge.

However, in saying that, the fact you might feel better on the other

dose, could be a good sign in that it is still removing mercury at a

rate to where it's actually " keeping you well " . It's when you don't

really notice anything that it's time to change something. So if the

previous dose gave improvements, it's still a sign of something

happening obviously.

But if you want to try and push things a wee bit further, it's up to

you to what you want to tolerate in achieving that. But improvements

or side effects (ones that are at least slightly tolerable) can both

be positive signs of mercury removal.

No side effects, and no improvements, are the signs that something

isn't right and either the dose needs to be increased, or the person

needs to start using ALA, or they may have another medical problem

blocking them from responding or healing (cavitations for example),

or they have another problem than mercury.

Thanks to everyone who responded. The side effects are tolerable, so I

will continue at this dose of ALA. My only concern was that there

might be some mercury redistribution since I was experiencing

increased tinnitus.

How long can I go on this round? I saw some posts a few months ago

about continuous chelation. My only limiting factors are running out

of DMPS and getting tired of waking twice during the night to take a

dose. I have slept through the alarm (Invisible Clock) twice and woke

up 45-60 minutes later and took the dose anyway. I know to discontinue

the round if I miss a dose by more than that.

Thanks,
