>Ok I will stop dreaming now. :)

Amy,

Have you had your baby shower yet? You could ask for a casserole shower...

where all the moms bring a frozen or ready-to-freeze casserole to you as a

gift. Some moms will bring both a casserole and a gift, but for those moms

who wouldn't come because they're not able to buy a gift, this is a great

idea. Our LLL Group in TX did it often. You might ask also that all

casseroles include the recipe so that if you need to avoid a certain type

food for a short period of time, you'll know what's in what.

And hit up your in-law's and family for a month's (or more) house cleaning

service! Most family members will spend $20 or more on one outfit for a

new baby.. ask them to pool their resources on something you *really* need

when your baby will probably wear onesies most of the time. :)

<<I wish you could have it at the birthing center then be waited on

there hand and foot for 2-3 days. :) Like a mini vacation package.>>

I am having this baby in a birth center, one of the things that attracted me was

NOT having to stay for 2 days. I HATED that about the hospital. I got absolutely

NO rest until I got home - It seems like the second you doze off a nurse comes

in to perform some procedure or another. I don't really consider having my blood

pressure taken 500 times a day being " waited on " - but that's just my opinion.

such a good idea. I think I need to start one in my area. Have LC and chefs

and massage therpist all over the place. AHHHHH sounds sooo nice. And of

course teh final touch would be the take you home make sure ALL the laundry

is done and there is 2 weeks worth of dinners in the frezer for hubby to

make. :) >>

Okay Amy -- You convinced me! Let's pool our resources and start opening

these across the country! I think you've got something here!

I'm with you Shelby!! I wanted to be in my own home, in my own bed where I

was comfortable. I actually left the hospital the same day that I had

Drake--had him at 3am and left later that early evening. Besides the fact

that hospitals are where SICK people with GERMS go--is that where I want my

nice, new, healthy little one?? I do understand staying though if mom has

had a rough time or if baby needs monitoring. Luckily in our case we were

both doing great and the dr had no problems letting us go home. I wish we

had birthing centers here in IL. The best we can find is a birth with a

midwife in a hospital or doing a homebirth......maybe soon though IL will get

a birthing center.
