Guest guest
I've been participating on Usenet and I've noticed that the steppers there have a tendency to lie over shit that doesn't even mean anything for the most part. The most recent example is from a poster named ernie who speaks of himself in terms of being stupid and not so bright and any number of self derogatory ways. He posts in a disjointed way as if he is what he claims but I believe it's all an act due to the nature of the difficulty inherent in finding and posting to any particular Usenet newsgroup. He clearly doesn't post as if he has a clue much less that kind of capacity. Here's what he wrote: " I've been in the room for over 15 years and some. I've been out of the room a long time too, I'm just coming back to the rooms with a year the 16th before that I was out of the rooms doing my own thing that never works for me. I better off in the rooms " Here's how I read that. He's been the rewms for over 15 years and in a redundant way for 15 years and some then he goes on to say he's just coming back to the rewms with a year for his 16th or maybe for another year on the 16th. Personally given his writing style I believe he said it was his 16th year. Later he stated this: " Even the speaker told part of my story for me and he never ever saw me.. he talked about for years he didn't say shit in a meeting. I felt like raising my hand and say I did that for 20 LOL ... but then I'll blow my cool and talk to someone LOL. " (btw that's exactly as he typed it to include the .. and ...)When I called him on this clear discrepancy in years here's a response another stepper gave. " Sorry, bud, I'm right. Ernie is saying he'll have a year on the 16th. The fact that he mentioned being around the fellowship 15 years in the previous sentence is just a coincidence. " Somehow this idiot manages to totally disregard the discrepancy between the 15 years and some followed immediately by the 16th and the 20 years he's been quiet in the rewms. Ok so I'm thinking I want to give him the benefit of the doubt even though I pretty much already haven't. I was wondering does anyone else read this the same way I do or am out there on this one. Also In a way I'm curious on what list members think of why steppers lie. I think Dave when you posted on double thinking that explains allot of it but in this case well to me this just comes off as an unnecessary blatant lie.
