This should garner some interesting attention. Go for it Sissi.

It will get nothing but lip service. BTDT.

Why can't they just do the right thing? It would make my life a hell of a

lot easier.

Hi ,

I am an editor (city news and entertainment) of a local paper and I have

written about the school system in the past. Looks like I will do so again.

Sissi, I'm in the process of contacting my Special Ed Director on

Monday over some issues which are in no way as horrible as the

inhumane way Boone has been treated, but never the less important

enough for me to decide to have my Will removed from the teacher he

has been with since he turned 3 last Fall. Hopefully, I will be

able to have Will moved to Kris's(cool_mother_of_2) preschool class

which is only 20 minutes away in the same county school system. I'll

let you know what I find out...Keep up the fight, don't settle for

less, if you have to follow through to the highest government

facility that you know ! (mom to Will 4 ASD)

Let us know what the response is! You keep at it you are a great force behind

your son! CHRIS

From Peggy Nielson

Mrs. Garvey: Thank you for your update and I am pleased to see some

progress on the issues you have raised that are so important for your child.

Though I do not want to burden you with additional people to contact, I would

appreciate an occasional update. Your communications with me continue to show

how much the state department of education needs to increase training to local

school systems on behalf of special needs children challenged with autism.

Sincerely,

Peggy Nielson, State Board of Education

2nd District, Southwest Georgia

Sissi:

I admit that until now, I hadn't been following this thread as closely as I

should have. Which is dumb on my part since I'm in Georgia too ...

Regardless ...

they are witholding this poor child's lunch!?!?!?!? wtf!!!! *( & $)@*#$

<speechless>

I quake with *rage* at this for you, and cannot even begin to imagine the

terrible wrath I would feel for the teacher who did this to my child. I

will personally drive to your son's school and picket with large signs

saying " STOP THE TORTURE " if you think it will help. Seriously, it is time

for public shaming. I might think about trying to contact a local news

station, letters to the editor at your local paper, etc.

Well like I said, I'm in Georgia and more than happy to help/back you in any

way. I have some back ground in marketing - - it would be nothing for one

of us to write an article and start shopping it around for placement in

magazines and such. But you're an editor and know this better than I do : )

(what a cool job!)
