Guest guest
I'd get the one with the skin rashes tested by a dermatologist. Diagnoseing DH is a noninvasive test. If that's neg. - find a good peds GI doc. Anyway, once you have a positive dx of celiac in one child, the others should most definilty be test (the odds of having celiac when a first degree relative has been diagnosed are 1:10 - 1:12). With one positive dx, you shoudn't have any problem getting the others referred. After my positive biopsy, a phone call to my family practice doc was all it took to get a referral for my teenagers. Guest guest
Hi , Test, test, test! I know of a family of five, all of whom are celiacs! All it takes is a blood test to get the ball rolling. You can check on celiac.com to find exactly which tests to ask for, if your doctor is like most doctors and has virtually no knowledge of CD. CD often hides behind IBS. Just think of how relieved you will be once you have some answers behind all these CD-sounding symptoms! Good luck!
