hair is falling out all over though not in patches. I used to have such

long thick dark hair now its super thin and if I wear it up you can see

my scalp. I am so gald that i'm not the only one with this problem.

Suzanne is losing her hair, but not in a circular "chunk". She has long hair and it is thinning significantly. Our GI said it could be from the medication or her IBD.

Suzanne is losing her hair, but not in a circular " chunk " . She has

long hair and it is thinning significantly. Our GI said it could be

from the medication or her IBD.

Hair loss can also be a symptom of hypothyroidism. It's any easy

blood test to discern that that is not the cause of hair loss. What's

one more blood test!

Joanne,

A good suggestion. Thyroid diseases run in

my family so Suzanne has already been tested.

I hope Suzanne is feeling abit better. I think of her often, as I

look at . He is having a rough time - sleep is really awful and

appetite, nausea, etc is up and down. His birthday is next week - in

past he's really enjoyed going out to eat to celebrate - we'll see

what he feels like doing tomorrow or Sunday!

Take care. Have a good 3 day weekend!

Hi there,

My husband also has both psc and alopecia areata. He started losing

his hair at the age of 19, and it came and went several times after

that. He is now 35 and has very little, but has got used to it and

it really hasn't been an issue for years. Maybe it is different for

men? He shaves off what little there is, and I think he looks pretty

cool..! However we have also wondered if there is a connection

between psc and alopecia, since they both are autoimmune diseases it

sort of seems likely. He got a liver transplant at the beginning og

this month, and has been on steroids and all sorts of drugs since,

so we are waiting to see if any of them will give his hair a push as

a side effect! So far there has been no effect on the hair on his

head, but his beard seems to be darker and it grows faster. Oh,

well, it really doesen't matter so much to us any more whether he

has hair or not. We are just glad his transplant went well! But it

must be different for you, just about to get married and all. I hope

you don't loose any more, and that you are among the lucky ones

whose hair grows back - quickly. Good luck and best wishes!
