Guest guest
It's a comfortable increase.. but chances are you will still need more.. your TSH is still pretty high current range is 3.0, they are using an outdated range... they didn't do the Free T3.. so we don't know how well you are converting.. and you need to know that. When are you scheduled to go in for the next labs? Guest guest
Yes.. you NEED to know your Free T3. You are on a T4 only med so it's especially important. T4 is a storage hormone, very little is used in this form by your body.... it has to be converted to the active thyroid hormone T3.. that is what is used by most of the tissues and organs in your body.. that is the number that you need to know.... without it you have no idea if your body is converting enough of the T4 into usable hormone.... Your Free T4 should be a bit over 1.3... so it's very likely that you don't even have enough T4 in your system to make enough T3... and your TSH is over range... current range is .3 to 3.0 - changed a couple of years ago. A TSH over 2.0 needs further testing... and most folks feel best with a TSH of around 1.0 or even less.. The normal reference range for the TSH is an old range. The upper limit for TSH now is 3.0, so you are still quite hypo. Someone else has probably chimed in with this information, but hey, here's another opinion. ) Kathy >^,,^< KitzCat146@... http://www.chaytongroup.com/modernbill/order/index.php?aid=ka081104 http://www.heartwarmers4u.com/members/?kitzcat kitzcat2001 on Yahoo Messenger kitzcat on MSN Messenger In a cat's eyes, all things belong to cats. - English Proverb ____________________________________________________ Yahoo!
