Guest guest
thanks Sue for your reply. How strong does the mixer have to be. Ada Re: Bette Hagman's bread Ada - Many of us have found the GF breads are just as easily done with a mixer and letting them rise in the over or somewhere. A bread machine is convenient, but not a necessity. Bette Hagman has several books that are definitely worth looking. You might try your library first. The recipe from this thread is in her Revised Gluten Free Gourmet book. Sue in Denver > > Does the bread recipe need a mixer to make it or a bread machine? Guest guest
I successfully made Bette's recipes with my old stand-up mixer, which was a little heftier than a hand mixer, but not as stout as a KitchenAid. The reason I got a KA is that I wanted to make bigger batches. The smaller mixer is fine as long as you don't try to do too much at once. Sue in Denver > > thanks Sue for your reply. Guest guest
But, perhaps the person wishing you that is jewish? Or muslim? or Hindu? Or even something you don't recognize as a " proper religion " (assuming your recognize all of these). HH is respective of all those traditions (and they all have winter observances). The MC push this year by some organized groups is fine for them -- so long as they don't try to force those with other practices to follow it (which they are, boycotting stores where workers are allowed to use the greeting of their own choice or where stores include varous HH decorations). I expect these same people would be more upset if the decorations were all silver and blue and the HH didn't refer to " Holidays " . Esp if their kids worked in such a store and were " forced " to use the religious greeting for all customers this time of year. -----Original Message----- Happy Holidays? NO! NO! NO! MERRY CHRISTMAS! Guest guest
Maybe Happy New Year would work? -- from a state where someone whose family observed the solstice and had to sue to keep their kid from being bused to fundamentalist revivals during school hours (and then sue the school district and move to another county due to abuse of their child). -----Original Message----- I was just thinking that!
