I can help. I've been doing them for a while now and have a few tricks.

Here's the steps for you:

1) Pull apart some gel and put it into a pan. Heat your stove to med-low

and melt the gel.

2) Use your glue gun to stick the wick to the bottom of your candle

container.

3) When it melts, pour some gel into a bowl - I use the glass cup measurers

4) Add coloring (I use the wax candle die chips you get from 's) and

stir it in

5) Wait for the gel to cool a bit. In order to achieve the bubble effect,

start stirring.

6) Stir baby, stir.

7) Stir some more

8) Add your scent (glitter, whatever)

9) When the gel starts resembling ... a blob, pour into your candle

container.

A note on cleaning - it's cool because the majority of the gel can just be

pulled out of your pan. I suggest spraying it with rubbing alcohol to get

any resin that's left. Do NOT let the gel go down the drain. I've heard

that causes problems but don't know from first hand experience.

If I've left something out of if you have ??, just yell.

If you buy your gel from Patti at BioMax, she includes the wicks.

Just adding my 2 cents.

I really hate to do this as I really respect Patti, but ...

I have found a superior gel. It's less greasy (WAY!), comes in a slab so

you just rip it apart and is cheaper. Granted the wicks don't come with but

I have found that her wicks don't burn as nicely as the wick I get from

s.

Now - this is just my two cents. I am not dissing Patti as I said. She

helped me out of a jam and is fabulous. It's only my personal opinion.

I've never used that ... heard some folks say that orange EO works, too.

Cheryl/Cricket suggested rubbing alcohol and, since it worked so well and

was so cheap, I've used that.

Whatever works, huh? =o)

I hate that residue. That, to me, is the major downside to gel candles.

Speaking of which, I need to make up a few more today and then clean it up.

Making is fun - cleaning ... bleech. <G>

So where is this place to get the gel? I'd like to try it, too. What

kind of wicks from do you get? I've never shopped for them,

just used what Patti sends with her gel. You can email me privately.
